Quilter Financial Planning has topped the pile in FTAdviser's Top 100 Financial Advisers 2019.
This was a jump of of five places from last year, when the business came in at number 6.
Its award and the rest of the Top 100 was celebrated at an event last night held at the Financial Times building in London.
Quilter has been busy building up its advice business, acquiring Lighthouse in June and Charles Derby in February. In a year of significant activity in the advice space, many others also saw a dramatic change in their rankings.
The Financial Adviser Top 100 changed its methodology in 2018, and has stuck with that system this year.
It is now based on a larger amount of data than in previous years, so that the final result is based on a more complete picture.
The data was created by Matrix Solutions, an ISS Market Intelligence business, and is gathered from retail sales on most platforms.
An algorithm is then applied, assessing net assets under management, inflows and outflows over the year, and other metrics.
The top 10 firms are as follows: Quilter Financial Planning, Close Brothers, Grant Thornton, Wilfred T Fry, Mazars Financial Planning, Charles Stanley, Progeny Wealth, St James's Place Wealth Management, Tenet and LEBC Group.
Guests played mini golf and celebrated with prosecco.
