John Cubitt, from Smith & Williamson, has been appointed president of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) in Northern Ireland.
Mr Cubitt, a Chartered wealth manager with Cunningham Coates (part of Smith & Williamson, a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment) replaces Chris Taggart, of Quilter Cheviot as president of the region.
Mr Cubitt said: "I am delighted to take on this role within the Northern Ireland investment community.
"I have inherited a strong and focused committee who are dedicated to providing topical CPD events, networking opportunities and collaborating with local education establishments to provide insight into working in the investment industry."
Richard Bennett, CISI assistant director and head of membership said: "We are delighted to welcome John as our new Northern Ireland President and to thank outgoing President Chris Taggart for his leadership over the past two years."
