Clay says that over the past 15 years this strategy has been run, it has averaged a yield of around 4 per cent – indicating it is a sustainable dividend income for companies to pay.
He also says the robustness of the philosophy has been highlighted by the Covid pandemic, indicating that they did not invest in many of the companies that cut their dividends, such as banks.
