Swiss-based Quaero Capital is to launch a fund to invest in listed clean energy companies.
The fund has been seeded with $32m (£23.9m) is a Luxembourg-domiciled Sicav that is registered for distribution in the UK.
The fund will be managed by Martina Turner, who has been employed at Quaero Capital since 2014 and has been running a strategy approximately replicating this fund since that time.
The fund aims to reduce carbon emissions by investing in listed fast-growing clean energy stocks no longer reliant on subsidies or non-profit investments.
The portfolio will select 28 to 35 stocks from an investible universe of 650 shares.
Patrick Connolly, head of communications at advice firm Chase De Vere, said: "Clean energy is a growing market although investments in this area haven't yet demonstrated clearly that they can deliver consistent returns without the support of government subsidies.
"This is a high risk fund, which is most suited to the institutional and professional investors it is targeting."
